THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND VOTES,
IT WAS A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!

Dear Friend,
The recent election saw the recommendations of the Charter Review Committee affirmed by the voters, substantially changing the operations of our government in San Juan County.
No longer will there be an absolute separation of powers, as Proposition 2 grants administrative authority to the Council. Our new Council will play an active role in the operations of the County. The Council will need to be more efficient, logical and deliberate in setting policy while working directly with county staff in implementing these policies.
In my decision to run for County Council, I was driven by my passion to improve our island life, to help my friends and neighbors, and to be active in preserving the feeling and culture that keeps us all living here in the San Juan Islands.
With an extensive background in small business, I have experience in obtaining results for projects funded with government grants, inside government at the local and federal level, and also in business. I have worked with over 15 medical device start-up companies and created over 500 jobs. Additionally, I am a Special Advisor to the White House on small business.
I am excellent at solving problems, even those problems that are complex and multidimensional. I now want to use my government and business skills and experience to help meet our local needs, and to achieve our community’s goals and objectives. I address situations in a non-political, problem-solving manner and believe that finding appropriate resolutions comes about through clear definition of the problem, collection of un-biased data, and hard work to evaluate potential solutions.
My number one objective is to always consider how any decision I make impacts the County and its residents. Over many years, I have developed processes to solve challenging problems and issues, building consensus, and providing superior results. I want to preserve the rural island culture that we know and love, while improving the lives of my island friends and neighbors, by serving you as a County Council Member.
Best,
Greg
